Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
– psychodynamic approach –
Costs
Billing for psychotherapy is clearly regulated – whether your child has statutory insurance, private insurance, or you would prefer to pay for treatment yourself. Here you'll find all the relevant information.
Costs
Billing – three routes
Statutory insurance
Child and adolescent psychotherapy is a covered health-insurance service. Where there is a clear indication, your statutory health insurer usually covers the full cost of treatment. There is no co-payment.
Private insurance
Psychotherapy is generally reimbursable as guideline-based therapy (Richtlinientherapie) and is also recognised by civil-servant subsidy schemes (Beihilfe). Private health insurers often cover the cost fully or in part. As the exact scope of reimbursement varies from policy to policy, it's worth reviewing your insurance contract in advance or checking directly with your insurer. Billing follows the official fee schedule for psychotherapists (Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten, GOP). On request, you'll receive a detailed invoice to submit to your insurance.
Self-payers
You're also welcome to cover the cost of treatment yourself, if you prefer. This allows for a straightforward, direct start to therapy – with no application or approval process. Some families deliberately choose this route to keep flexibility over the length and frequency of therapy.

Therapy begins
Once we've got to know each other and clarified the need for therapy as well as all the formalities, we begin the therapy itself.
